EN 60900 is an european standard describing the requirements of tools for the treatment of alive parts. This standard describes requirement and methods of testing for pliers, in this case of isolated ones.
- General requirements: Regulate things of general interest assuring the ability of using of the tool itself.
- Visual check of proper assembly and inscription.
- Shock test checking the stability of the isolating material (plastic).
- Voltage test at 10.000 V in a water bath assuring the ability of isolation.
- Pressure test for 2 hours in a warming cabinet at 70° C checking the deformation of the plastic.
- Test of adhesive power of the isolating material. The isolation of the blade must
not be removeable even at a temperature
of 70° C. - Combustibilty test of the plastic assuring difficult inflammability.
- Mechanic test on metal parts of the pliers testing the observation of DIN/ISO-standards.
- Permanency test of the lettering assuring the difficult removing of the certification. Both voltage tests at 10 KV for 10 seconds and visual check of proper assembly and inscription are routine check tests.
Some of our STUBAI pliers are available in various versions!
