9070 Ice axe Level

LEVEL is curved so that the tip is directly under the hand when walking. The bend in the upper area prevents snow contact when walking on steep northern slopes with the use of the pick. The upper bend protects the hand when walking uphill in steep terrain and leaves distance to the ice. The lower bend brings the tip of the ice pick centrally under the hand when walking in flat terrain. If the LEVEL is held at the lower end to hit steps with the shovel, the distance to the ice is greater due to the bend and it can be worked more efficiently. Matt black throughout.
